About Sarah's Smile
Sarah’s Smile was born out of a need discovered by founder and President, Samantha Washington. Samantha’s younger sister, Sarah, was diagnosed with a developmental disability early in life. Samantha watched her grow with the challenges presented to her in the school system, health system, and social settings. She grew up dreaming of supporting Sarah and other young people like her by providing comprehensive health and therapeutic treatment to continue seeing youth like Sarah smile. To accomplish this mission, Samantha founded Sarah’s Smile as a 501(c)3 nonprofit to address health disparities among minority youth facing Intellectual, Genetic, and Developmental Disorders in Illinois. Together, we will improve the quality of life for Illinois’ most challenged young people.
We envision a world where all youth have access to the support and resources they need to thrive, regardless of their background or circumstance.
